Tanning tips and tricks

Is your summer glow slowly fading and you need a bit of a top-up?
This step by step tutorial and tips will help you achieve a flawless, even tan that will last.
Step 1: Make sure to shave the day before (at least 24hours before)
This lets your skin and hair follicles settle and will help reduce the tan getting into pores giving that spotty look.
Step 2: Exfoliate!!
This step is crucial to achieving a flawless tan. Exfoliate skin after shaving/the day before tanning. This will help to get rid of any previous fake tan and dead skin.
Step 3: Moisturize
Moisturising the skin especially in areas that are dry and the tan tends to stick to (armpits, knees, elbows and hands) will help your tan to look even and prevent it sticking to particular areas.
Tip - You can also do this step right before you tan but make sure to use sparingly and gently tap off the residue.
Step 4: Tan time
Use a good tanning mitt apply to tan all over your body. Leave hands, feet and knees till last and use the residue of what's left on the mitt for these areas. If your tanning your face also just use the residue.
Step 5: Wash off
Wash off tan after the instructed time on bottle, I like to leave mine on overnight (8+ hours) to achieve the maximum results.
Gently pat dry with a towel after.
Step 6: Moisturize (again)
Not directly after showering but the following days after, make sure to moisturize all over. This will help your tan last longer and stop it getting dry and looking "scaley"
DONTS:
- don't use deodorant before tanning
- don't use highly perfumed moisturisers
- don't wear your favourite white clothes when letting tan develop
